After heading up a commodity building supply company for 40 years, Gilbert Smith ventured into the broker business to redevelop his own properties and facilitate the buying and selling of properties for others. An active member of Nashville’s development community, Smith is a past-chair of the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission and the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors. He also served as president of both the Tennessee chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors and the Downtown Nashville Rotary Club. Smith graduated from Vanderbilt University and served in the U.S. Navy.
